Our Little Lentil Royalty is chosen from applications received all around Whitman or Latah County. Participants must be entering grades 1-6 in either county.

Participants are then asked three questions:

1. Why do you like living on the Palouse?

2. Why do you like lentils?

3. Why do you want to be the Lil’ Lentil King or Queen?

Our judges then tally the votes to dub the new Lil' Lentil Royalty Court to represent the National Lentil Festival for the upcoming year!

This year, King Riley was chosen by the panel as the 2023 King. He exemplified what it means to love the community you live in and celebrate all things Palouse! Check him out on the 2023-2024 parade circuit amongst a variety of other community events!

Congrats to our 2023 Lil' Lentil Royalty:
